These materials are offered free,
especially for classroom use, as a basic text.
The wealth of Inca material
available on the web does not
include a pupil-friendly political
narrative, so most of these
downloads are to fill that gap.
The narrative breaks down into 6
‘chapters’, and each page of a
chapter can stand on its own.
The text is fairly challenging in
difficulty, and this is reflected in
the ‘3 llama logo’ on the top
right hand side of each page.
Easier stuff may follow!
Norman Pratt graduated from Oxford University in 1966 with a BA honours degree in
Modern History. He taught in Uganda, and spent 3½ years in London advertising
agencies, mainly as a copywriter. He has been a Comprehensive School teacher in
Essex for 31 years, and a Head of History. Having retired from the ‘front line’ he
can’t stop thinking about History and writing about it. Never one to let accuracy get
in the way of a good story in the classroom, he has had to mend his ways in writing the material available on this page, which is as accurate as he can make it. He has
faithfully attended the Cambridge History Forum for many years, contributes to
Internet History Forums, and finds he can now afford his own copy of ‘Teaching
History’ and the time to read it. He has a wife, Jenny, and two grown-up daughters.
